Jeff Martin: Free Agent
• Earlier this week we reported that Cox Media Group AC WFEZ (Easy 93.1)/Miami had revealed its new morning show — the newly minted team of market veteran Bobby Mitchell and current APD/midday personality Korby Ray will debut Monday, July 17.
They will succeed former Easy 93.1 morning duo Jeff Martin and Giselle Andres — one of the top-rated morning shows in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale market for the last six years, we are told. Andres exited in April, and Martin left last Friday. Martin (pictured), a fixture on South Florida radio for the last 16 years, tells RAMP that he was proud to lend his time and talents in support of many local charities and causes, and will continue to do so as he explores other opportunities.
In the meantime, Martin says, “I will miss my wonderful co-workers and keeping our incredibly loyal listeners entertained and informed,” as he mused, “how great would it be to be reunited with my former partner.” Martin added, “What I won’t miss are the 2:30am wake up calls.”
