Alpha Media: Whatever It Takes
• Alpha Media Lincoln, NE announced a first-of-its-kind partnership with Whatever Collective — a Lincoln-based live-events specialist team founded by local entertainer DeWayne “D-Wayne” Taylor, who made his triumphant return to Top 40 106.3 KFRX this week as the host of D-Wayne in the AM, weekdays from 6-10am. As part of the partnership, Whatever Collective will bring its diverse roster of DJs, emcees, photographers, videographers, and graphic/apparel designers to elevate live events hosted by Alpha Media Lincoln stations and their partners.
Taylor previously spent seven years with KFRX in a variety of roles before crossing the street to program NRG Media rival RED 94.5 (KBBK-HD2) until May of this year.
“We are elated to welcome D-Wayne back to KFRX,” said Katie Philippi, Market Manager for Alpha Media Lincoln. “His energy, passion, connection to community, and overall expertise offers a huge complement to our brand. We are excited to begin a unique and innovative partnership with Whatever Collective to super serve our community, fans, and advertisers.”
“When I started my radio career, I couldn’t have imagined that the Collective I founded would find such a forward-thinking media partner,” said Taylor. “I founded Whatever Collective in 2015, the same year I started my career on KFRX, making for a serendipitous moment for me and all the talent under Whatever Collective. Now, with Alpha Media Lincoln’s genuine commitment to community engagement and support for our growth, we have the perfect partner to elevate our community and take my radio career to new heights. It’s refreshing to collaborate with an organization that truly values innovation and supports local talent.” [Photos by Toby Liang & Alex Neill, courtesy of Whatever Collective]
