MIW Names Vannoy ’24 ‘Behind The Mic’ Mentee
• Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio, Inc. (MIW) proudly announces Jenelle Vannoy, afternoon drive talent (as “J. Belle“) on Cumulus Top 40 KOBQ (93.3 The Q)/Albuquerque as the 2024 “Behind The Mic” mentee.
The “Behind The Mic Mentorship” program is a year-long experience exclusively for female personalities from any U.S.-based music format who have been in on-air position for at least 3-5 years and have demonstrated a desire to grow their on-air career. As the 2024 mentee, Vannoy will receive personalized conversations and advice from a wide range of industry professionals, and attend the NAB Radio Show 2025 in Las Vegas.

Originally from Winston-Salem, NC, Vannoy holds a degree in Journalism from NC A&T State University and a 2013 degree in Film/Video & Cinema from UNLV. She began her radio career at iHeartMedia Las Vegas, followed by a stint with Radio One Charlotte.
“I’m so grateful and appreciative to be in this industry for over 15 years, but it’s time to turn it up a notch, and I believe being in this program will do that for me,” said Vannoy. “Thank you to the MIW board for choosing me. I’m excited to take this ride. Let’s GOOOOOO!”
