Radio One Buffalo Acquires WHLD-AM
• Buddy Shula’s Radio One Buffalo announced it will acquire 5,000-watt WHLD-AM 1270/Niagara Falls, NY (currently Conservative Talk) from Cumulus Media in a deal that will give Radio One Buffalo a pair of giant AMs (along with WECK-AM) serving the Buffalo-Niagara Falls, NY market.
“This is a great addition to Buffalo’s Oldies Station, The BIG WECK, and will give us more opportunity to touch the lives of our listeners and local communities” said Shula (pictured), Pres. & CEO of Radio One Buffalo. “This acquisition is going to change the radio landscape in Niagara Falls, Buffalo, and all areas in between, just like our purchase of WECK-AM did eight years ago.”
Both companies have entered into a Local Marketing Agreement (LMA) set to go into effect on June 1, ahead of closing, and pending FCC approval.
