Unscheduled Departure Day At KC’s Wolf

• As initially reported by Country Aircheck, Audacy Country WDAF (106.5 The Wolf)/Kansas City has jettisoned all of its live and local air talent, including morning host Zeke Montana, APD/MD/morning co-host Codie Allen, and afternoon personality Jeff “Shotgun” Jaxon. All three  who boast lengthy market heritage, took to Facebook to post their farewell messages.

Montana (pictured here with Allen), wrote, “All I can say is ‘Thank You’ to all of YOU… my friends, who listen to Codie and me every morning! We were let go this morning after our show. I wanted YOU to know how much you’ve meant to me these past 38 years on the radio in KC. I truly owe everything to YOU! I’m not leaving town, so make sure we keep in touch. YOU will all be in my thoughts and prayers!! Cheers!!”

Allen’s post reads, “I’ve been trying to find the right words but all I can think of is this… it’s the closing of one chapter and beginning of the next. I’ve had a blessed radio career in KC, but sadly the Codie and Zeke morning show had its final curtain today. I’ll post more once I really process all of this, but just know that I am truly okay but will miss being a part of your mornings.” Allen can be contacted at Codie.allen@gmail.com.

Jaxon’s lengthy post reads, in part, “This afternoon will be my last show on 106-5 The Wolf. I knew it was coming eventually. It’s been a hell of a ride! I moved here from Omaha and started at Q104 on Nov. 1, 1992, then from Dec. of 2006 until now, I’ve been on The Wolf. Never would I have imagined being on the air in Kansas City for 5 years, let alone 33! That’s like 100 years in DJ years!” Jaxon said he will remain with the cluster “in a much smaller capacity, working with The Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network.” Reach out to Shotgun at ShotgunJaxon@gmail.com.
