Davis Succeeds Swedberg At iHeart/Twin Cities
It was concurrently announced that, after 34 years at K102 and iHeartMedia Minneapolis, Gregg Swedbergwill be transitioning to a new strategic advisor role with the company. His new focus will be assisting with iHeartCountry projects and he will continue to be part of the iHeart Minneapolis team helping with the transition.
Swedberg remarked, “I’m looking forward to having the unique opportunity to help lots of stations in iHeartCountry and assisting Rich and Chad with this transition. I can’t wait for Nashville to embrace Rich, which I know they will. The iHeart Minneapolis team will just keep on winning.”
Davis has been Program Director of Top 40 sister KDWB — this time — since March 2016, transferring back to the Twin Cities after 14 months as SVPP with iHeart Seattle. He earlier programmed KDWB and KTCZ (Cities 97). Prior to his second Minneapolis run, Davis spent 11 years with iHeart Nashville as OM of the cluster and PD of WRVW (107.5 The River). He previously programmed WZEE (Z104)/Madison, WI… and Davis’ first round with KDWB was as APD/MD from 1997-99.
“When I first got to KDWB in 1997 I never dreamed I’d one day get the chance to take over for the legendary Gregg Swedberg,” said Davis. “I hope to make him proud and continue our success with these amazing teams and brands in the Twin Cities. Thanks to Kris Foley, Gene Romano and Eric Lonnquist for the opportunity!”
