‘Octavius’ Awarded Nights At WIMZ/Knoxville

• Midwest Communications’ Classic Rock 103.5 WIMZ/Knoxville promotes from within, tapping longtime station veteran/utility player “Octavius” as its new evening entertainer. He succeeds Jay Mac, who just moved up to mornings with Drake Meredith, replacing the retired Johnboy & Billy.

“I’m beyond stoked about this opportunity, said Octavius (J.D. Howard) who was born and raised in East Tennessee, the son of an East Tennessee radio pioneer, and who has been part of the WIMZ team since 2009. “WIMZ has an incredible legacy,” he said, “and I’m honored to take on a night show that’s been hosted by so many legends.”

With Jay Mac and Drake Meredith anchoring mornings, George McFly in the afternoon, and Octavius leading nights, Midwest Communications and WIMZ continues to reinforce its commitment to live, local talent and strong market connection.
