Willobee Resets Career Clock To 808AM

• Veteran programmer Will “Willobee” Carlan has embarked on an exciting new chapter with the launch of 808AM, described in the colorful brochure as “a boutique artist management company whose mission is international music discovery and to empower recording artists to achieve their fullest potential by providing a comprehensive suite of management services that cover every facet of their careers.”

808AM’s artist roster already includes London-based Flesh For Lulu, who are working on new music with plans to tour late this year; and False Heads, an up-and-coming indie hard rock trio; Denver-based Neon The Bishop, a theatrical indie pop alternative band; Portland’s own Hopeless Jack , a powerhouse guitarist, singer/songwriter with a very unique voice; and Indianapolis-based Jason Aaron Coons (J.A.C.), a prolific singer songwriter with pop sensibilities.

This is not the first artist management rodeo for Willobee, who took a detour from radio in the mid ’90s to work with KORN, General Public, Flesh For Lulu, Gigantic, Phunk Junkeez, Chronic Future, Tuck & Patti, and was pivotal in discovering Ugly Kid Joe.

Willobee most recently programmed Colorado Public Radio Triple A KVOQ (Indie 102.3)/Denver for nearly seven years until his departure last November. He earlier served as Operations Director for Nevada Public Radio KVNV (NV89)/Reno, and programmed Northshire Alternative WEQX/Manchester, VT-Albany, NY, to name a few stops. He began his radio career at WLIR/Long Island.

808AM is based in Denver, while partnering on False Heads with Jim Frew (7 West) and Jason Palmer (Flick of the Finger) both based in the U.K. To learn more, contact Willobee at Willobee@808am.net.
