• Veteran music industry executive Risa Matsuki proudly unveils RM Artist Development Services LLC, an artist-forward consulting and advocacy platform designed to help independent musicians better understand the fundamentals of today’s music business. Built for artists navigating a DIY-driven landscape, RM Artist Development Services focuses on education, clarity, and long-term thinking rather than hype or shortcuts. The platform offers practical tools such as checklists, guides, and strategic support around promotion basics, distribution, rights awareness, and career planning and radio/DSP campaigns.
With over 30 years of experience working across major labels and independent companies, most recently 14 years with Beggars Group as VP of Radio Development & Strategic Promotions, Matsuki created RM Artist Development Services to act as a guide — not a gatekeeper — helping artists make informed decisions on their own terms. “Artists are expected to know everything now, often without access to real guidance,” said Matsuki. “This is about helping artists understand the basics so they can move forward confidently and avoid common pitfalls.”
