Ison Named Interim VP/News, Worldwide News Network
• RAMP has learned that Red Apple Media has appointed Brandon Ison as Interim Vice President of News for the Worldwide News Network. He will succeed, at least temporarily, Lee Harris, who abruptly exited as SVP of News & Programming several weeks ago after only three months on the job.
The news of Ison’s elevation was delivered to the staff in a memo from Chad Lopez, President of Red Apple Media, Red Apple Audio Networks, and WABC Radio and obtained by RAMP, which reads, in part, “In this role, Brandon will oversee news gathering, production, and presentation across the Worldwide News Network, 77 WABC, and WLIR, while managing the network’s day-to-day operations.”
The Lopez memo continued, “Brandon has been an integral part of the Worldwide News Network since its launch, making this a great example of our commitment to growing talent from within. Please join us in congratulating Brandon and supporting him in his new role. His collaborative leadership will be essential as we continue moving the network forward.”
