Happy Quarter Century, X102.3!

Launched on October 23, 2001, X102.3 quickly established itself as a powerful Rhythmic station serving listeners across South Florida. Over the past 25 years, the station has evolved alongside its audience, becoming one of South Florida’s leading R&B brands while maintaining its commitment to delivering great music, local information, and community engagement.
“For 25 years, WMBX has been more than a radio station — we’ve had the privilege of being part of the daily lives and shared experiences of the communities we serve, and that’s something we never take for granted,” said Mark McCray, Program Director of WMBX.

In recognition of the station’s impact on the community, the City of West Palm Beach officially proclaimed October 23, 2026, as “X102.3 Day,” as Mayor Keith A. James presented the station with a special commendation honoring its 25 years of service. The city also joined in celebrating this milestone by hosting a free waterfront event for listeners, featuring live music and community festivities along the West Palm Beach Waterfront.
