Purdy Awesome Honor

Longtime CBS Radio Dallas-Fort Worth SVP/Market Manager Brian Purdy was among an elite group of media professionals who were recognized by the Texas Association of Broadcasters (TAB), as he was presented with the coveted “Broadcaster of the Year” award on Thursday, August 10, in Austin, TX. “Every day is a terrific adventure working with our outstanding team, who responsibly inform, entertain, serve and protect Texans throughout the state,” Purdy said in accepting the honor. “I wish they all could be standing up here with me right now.”

Purdy’s four-decade broadcasting career has always been focused on effective, strategic leadership. He has been with the CBS Radio stations in Dallas-Fort Worth since 2004, serving in his current post since 2009. Under his leadership, the CBS Radio stations in DFW enjoyed one of their best years ever in 2016, in terms of ratings growth and community service. Revenues increased, but more importantly — his stations raised over $1.26 million during their “Christmas for Children” Radiothon.
