Over Dave, Under Ceej

• Magic Broadcasting Top 40 WILN (Island 106)/Panama City, FL announces a whole new morning show experience — the duo of Dave and Ceej takes over wake-up duties on October 9, as Jen Ryan exits to pursue new adventures. OM/PD Marc Summers explains that this newly minted team, a fascinating pairing of major market pro David Dean and radio newcomer CJ “Ceej” Dwyer was brought to his attention by veteran programmer/talent coach Angela Perelli.

“Angela had found a morning show duo that was instantly likeable and had striking similarities to our previously über-successful shows, That Guy Kramer and The Miguel Show with Holly O’Connor,” said Summers. David “Dave” Dean was most recently MD/afternoon drive at KMPS/Seattle and has also worked at WOMX/Orlando and KMLE, KOOL and KZON/Phoenix. Summers commented, “Dwyer likely holds the record for most graduate degrees and certificates by a morning show host. This is his first radio gig and he joins the madness with an education and writing background. He also changes his name more than anyone you’ll ever meet.”

Summers continued, “GM Misty Sims and I spent a day talking with these guys, listened to their show, studied their disciplined social media, and realized this would be a show the echoed the best of our legendary past, but with a duo that is more than just funny — these guys know what is needed to win in today’s fragmented competitive digital landscape, and will deliver it daily for the listeners of Island 106.” In a joint statement, Dave and Ceej said, “We’ve never been so excited to get to work in our lives!
