Gregg Named Journalist Of The Year
• Entercom is proud to announce that Cherri Gregg, Community Affairs Reporter and on-air host at All-News KYW Newsradio/Philadelphia has been named Journalist of the Year by the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists (PABJ). Ms. Gregg, who was recognized in the broadcast and online category, will be honored at the PABJ’s annual Awards and Scholarship Gala on November 2 in Philadelphia.
“Cherri is extremely deserving of this award,” said David Yadgaroff, SVP/Market Manager, Entercom Philadelphia. “She is a champion of the community who is constantly searching for and reporting on the stories and issues that matter most to KYW Newsradio listeners across the Philadelphia area. I’m proud to call her a member of our team.”
Gregg joined KYW Newsradio as a reporter in 2010 and has served as the station’s Community Affairs Reporter since 2013. She also hosts Flashpoint with Cherri Gregg, a weekly program that focuses on the most relevant issues affecting the Philadelphia area and airs on five Entercom Philadelphia stations.
Commenting on her PABJ honor, Gregg commented, “I’m humbled, grateful and truly honored to receive this award from PABJ, an organization that I love. Every day I work to educate, empower and positively impact underserved communities, and this award means that maybe, just maybe, the work is headed in the right direction.”
Gregg has been actively involved in the PABJ since 2009 and served as its President from 2015 to 2016. This year, she was also recognized with two National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Salute To Excellence Awards for radio investigative reporting and podcasting.
