Hollywood A Hall Of Famer
SummitMedia Greenville, SC is proud to announce one of its own is now a Hall of Fame athlete — Tone Hollywood, midday personality on Urban WJMZ (107.3 Jamz) and former longtime morning personality on WZHT (Hot 98.1) was recently inducted into the Clemson Athletics Hall of Fame in recognition of his contributions to the school’s track and field program.
Hollywood was the 1994 World Junior Champion and a seven-time All-American who finished third in the NCAA Indoor 200-meter dash his sophomore year. As a junior, he finished third in the 200 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. During his senior season in 1997, he propelled the 4×100 relay team to a silver medal at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Along the way, he was an eight-time champion in the ACC, winning the 200-meter three times and the 400-meter once, while also a member of four gold medal relays. Tone received his undergraduate degree in 1997 and earned his Master’s in 2003.
While attending Clemson, Tone first fell in love with radio while working at the campus station. Mirroring his athletic career, Tone has also been rewarded for his talent behind the mic — he was named 2014 “Personality of the Year” by the South Carolina Broadcasters Association.
