Bumper Morgan Signs Off
Morgan’s first radio gig was at KRIZ in his hometown of Phoenix in 1977 (he was inducted into the KRIZ Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame in 2013). Bumper went on to work at KZZP/Phoenix; KPUR/Amarillo, TX; KRIG/Midland-Odessa, TX; KJ-100/Louisville; B94/Pittsburgh; WQUE/New Orleans; WGCL/Cleveland; KTFM/San Antonio; Y107 and 104 The Core/Nashville; and closer to home — Oldies 101.1, WCOD, WXTK, Frank-FM and PIXY 103/Cape Cod, MA, where his talent was recognized by the Massachusetts Association of Broadcasters in 2012.
Over the course of his long career, Morgan famously imaged some of America’s greatest radio stations, including: The Power Pig/Tampa, WGCI/Chicago, WMJI/Cleveland, Y107 and WWTN/Nashville, Z90/San Diego, Hot 102/Milwaukee, WJLB/Detroit, KEZY/Anaheim, KZZP/Phoenix, WBLS/New York, Alice 106/Denver and many others. He also produced a weekly syndicated show, Retro Rewind.
Scott and Kim moved from Nashville to Cape Cod, MA 18 years ago to raise their family. Although ALS silenced his voice before he passed, he had comfort in knowing he was given the opportunity to use up all his words in the profession he loved — radio. Your memories can be shared on Bumper’s Facebook page.
