Jag On The Loose!
CBS Radio continues to quietly make staff reductions ahead of the upcoming Entercom merger — the latest downsizing has hit Top 40 WZDH (98.7 AMP Radio)/Detroit, where midday personality Jon “Jag” Gay has been cut loose.
Gay, who recently got married, originally landed in the Motor City in 2011, when he made the neck-snapping Leap Of The Week™ from nights on WXXX (95 Triple X)/Burlington, VT to nights on iHeartMedia Top 40 WKQI (Channel 95.5). After a three-year stint programming sister KVDU (Voodoo 104)/New Orleans, Gay returned to Detroit and joined AMP Radio in June 2016.
In a Facebook post, Gay announced he is now looking for his next opportunity while also expressing his intention to remain in the Detroit area. He’s also available to do any remote/voicetracking as needed. He said, “If you know of someone in Detroit that could use my communications, writing, people, operations and analytics skills, please let me know. Willing to listen to any opportunity.” Gay can be reached at jagthedj@gmail.com.
