Martinez On The Loose
• RAMP has confirmed that major market veteran Dennis Martinez has exited his post as PD of Entercom Hot AC WOMX (Mix 105.1) and Alternative WQMP (FM 101.9)/Orlando and is now seeking his next opportunity. Until a permanent replacement is named, WOMX programming duties will be handled by Mix APD/MD Dana Taylor, while WQMP will be overseen by John O’Connell, PD of Alternative sister WSFS (104.3 The Shark)/Miami.
Martinez (left) arrived in America’s Vacationland in October of 2015, hired by former owner CBS Radio as PD of WOMX and former Top 40 WJHM (101.9 AMP Radio). Before that he spent two years as SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia’s group in Modesto-Stockton, CA.
Martinez boasts an extensive programming resume that includes iHeartMedia’s KYLD (Wild 94.9)/San Francisco, CBS Radio’s KZON/Phoenix and Clear Channel Rhythmic AC WWVA (105-7 The Groove)/Atlanta, and he also spent some quality years with Clear Channel Monterey-Salinas, CA as OM of the cluster and PD of Rhythmic KDON.
