Pros On The Loose: Allison Demers

• Longtime Connecticut radio pro Allison Demers exits her midday spot at Classic Hits WHCN (105.9 The River)/Hartford after nearly two years.

In a Facebook post, Demers wrote, in part, “Monday was my last day on-air. Due to budget cuts, iHeartMedia has been laying off staff across the nation and here in CT for some time now. I’ve watched it happen to many friends and colleagues who work for other companies too. I just want to thank everyone for listening. I will miss the personal interactions, the interviews, hosting events, the music and all the amazing people I met and worked with. I have been SO blessed to do this work! I’m so grateful for all of it! I’m 56, and I started when I was 22!”

Demers notably spent 23 years as morning co-host/newscaster on Audacy AC WRCH (Lite 100.5)/Hartford until early 2023, followed by a stint as morning co-host on Full Service WATR-AM 1320/Waterbury, CT. From 1998-2000 Demers was News Director/morning co-host on iHeart Top 40 WKCI (KC101)/New Haven.
