Blythe Joins Def Jam As SVP/A&R
• Veteran A&R exec Chelsea Blythe has been appointed Senior Vice President, A&R for Def Jam Recordings. In her new role, she will oversee select current and new artist projects, while actively discovering and signing new talent to Def Jam.
Blythe will be based in Santa Monica and report directly to Jeff Harleston, Interim CEO, Def Jam Recordings, who commented, “I’m excited to welcome Chelsea to the Def Jam family. I’m confident her instincts and acumen will immediately be felt within the A&R team and the company as a whole.”
Blythe began her music career in 2012 in the A&R Department at Interscope Records, where she contributed to projects from Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Mike WiLL Made-it and Rae Sremmurd.
