Clay Hunnicutt Exits Big Loud
• RAMP has learned that Clay Hunnicutt has stepped down as President of Big Loud Records after four years at the helm. The news originally broke in MusicRow.com, which quoted Hunnicutt as saying, “I leave Big Loud knowing that we started something very special and look forward to seeing how this incredible roster of artists continue to take it to the next level. I’ll never forget the amazing memories made as I venture into future opportunities. Thank you to this team who defies the odds and makes Big Loud truly great.”
Hunnicutt previously spent 17 years with Clear Channel/iHeartMedia, joining the company in 1998 as RVP of Programming and was elevated to EVP of Programming in 2018. He famously made the transition from radio to the record label side in June 2015, when he resigned his position as EVP & GM of iHeartMedia’s National Programming Platforms and joined Big Loud as its inaugural President, joining a team that included label founders Joey Moi, Craig Wiseman, Seth England and Kevin “Chief” Zaruk, who helped launch the career of superstar duo Florida Georgia Line.
In a joint statement, Moi, Wiseman, England and Zaruk said, “Big Loud is grateful for our time spent with Clay heading our Records team. He is a top-rate executive, incredible leader, and one of the hardest-working professionals we’ve ever met. Clay’s future is limitless, and we look forward to collaborating with him in the years to come. We can’t thank you enough, Clay.” Hunnicutt can be reached at clayhunnicutt615@gmail.com.
