Falen & Colt Succeed Dave Ryan At KDWB

• The day after Twin Cities’ morning radio legend Dave Ryan rode off into retirement after his massive going-away party at the Mall of America, iHeartMedia’s 101.3 KDWB/Minneapolis softened that blow by introducing some familiarity into the station’s new morning show — Falen & Colt move up from afternoons to succeed Ryan in mornings.

For Falen, it’s a return to the wake-up spot she formerly occupied as Ryan’s co-host from 2012 until August 2023 when she moved to afternoons, originally paired with Zach Dillon. In Feb. 2024, Colt returned to KDWB from KHKS/Dallas as Falen’s new co-host, as Dillon crossed the hall to KTCZ (Cities 97.1) as APD/afternoons.

Ryan’s current producer and co-host Jenny will remain in mornings with Falen & Colt, while Vont Leak moves to afternoons.

“We knew replacing a legend like Dave Ryan wasn’t going to easy. Luckily for us, we have the perfect person right here in our building!” said Rich Davis, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Minneapolis. “Falen solidified herself as a true talent during her over 10 years working with Dave. She endeared herself to the Twin Cities and our KDWB audience by being unapologetically herself. Falen and Colt have built quite a show in afternoon drive, and I know our listeners will welcome her back to their morning routine!”

“To lead mornings on such an iconic station and become the first woman to hold this role is incredibly special,” Falen remarked. “From the moment I moved to the Twin Cities, I felt embraced by the listeners here, and I’m so grateful to Rich and the team for believing in me. I also have so much respect for what Dave built over the years and the connection he created with listeners. I can’t think of anyone I’d rather do this with than Colt and Jenny, and we’re excited to create a show listeners genuinely look forward to every morning.”
