Hizzonor, Mayor Wagman!
• How cool is this? Longtime radio industry veteran Rob Wagman, President of StraightPath Media, surprised more than a few folks this week when, in an upset victory, he was elected Mayor of scenic Kings Mountain, NC, edging out 18-year incumbent, Scott Neisler. No, seriously.
After all the votes were counted, Wagman (left) remarked, “It’s surreal to have won the office of mayor in my wife’s hometown.”
Wagman’s wife, Sarah Lee (right, next to an unidentified campaign staffer who bears an uncanny resemblance to comedian Pete Davidson) is co-host of the Paul Schadt and Sarah Lee morning show on iHeartMedia Country WKKT (96.9 the Kat)/Charlotte. The couple has been married since 2013.
Along with his new mayoral duties, Wagman’s consultancy continues to flourish in Christian Radio, while he still quarterbacks crossover songs to mainstream radio. He’s currently spearheading Lauren Daigle‘s version of “Jingle Bells,” along with promoters Charlie Foster and Mark Rizzo.
