AntMan Invades Austin
iHeartMedia Austin has named Anthony “The AntMan” Allen as the new Program Director of Country KASE and Classic Country KVET. He will also do afternoons on KASE 101 and report to Brian Gann, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Austin/San Antonio. AntMan (left) is a 17-year company vet who transfers from the APD/MD post at Country cousin KNIX/Phoenix. Before landing in Phoenix in 2013, AntMan was APD/afternoon personality at sister WSIX (The BIG 98)/Nashville. His background also includes programming duties at iHeartMedia’s KZSN (102.1 The Bull)/Wichita, KS. He also hosts the nationally syndicated Country House Party on Saturday nights.
“We are thrilled to have The AntMan leading our heritage Country brands, KASE and KVET,” said Matt Martin, President of iHeartMedia Austin/San Antonio. “He is a gifted programmer and an amazing talent. We could not be more excited to have him join the Austin team.” AntMan commented, “It’s been more than an honor to work with the talented team at 102.5 KNIX at iHeartMedia Phoenix. I’m looking forward to taking everything I’ve learned there with me to Austin to lead these storied Country brands, KASE 101 and 98.1 KVET. It’s a return home for my family and I can’t wait to get started.” KASE and KVET had most recently fallen under the purview of Travis Moon, former Director of Country Operations for iHeartMedia Austin & San Antonio Region, who left the company last month.
