Carew New PD Of Big 98.5
Adams Radio Group has named Colleen Carew as the new PD/midday personality of Classic Rock WGBG (Big 98.5)/Salisbury-Ocean City, MD. Ms. Carew already has a valid Maryland driver’s license — she segues from Times-Shamrock WZBA (100.7 The Bay)/Baltimore, where she has spent 13 years in middays. Before that she put in several years of service at crosstown WIYY (98 Rock)/Baltimore. The move marks a radio homecoming for Carew, who started her career on the Eastern Shore and was part of the team that launched Adams Radio Active Rock WZBH (93.5 The Beach) under a previous owner.
Carew said, “I’ve been lucky enough to play the greatest music ever made, and interact with many of the artists responsible for it. I’ll continue to do the same here on Delmarva. I love that my career has come full-circle because I love Delmarva — the people, the vibe, the businesses, and, oh yeah — the beach!”
Paul Burton, VP/GM of Adams Radio said, “We are thrilled to have Colleen on board. Not to sound silly, but, ‘she completes us!’ We have spent a lot of time in the past couple of months resetting some things and preparing for the next phase of our growth… and we all know growth does not happen without the right team — and now we have it. Colleen will take BIG to new heights.” Carew succeeds group Promotions Director Laura Lee, who has been interim PD since Johnny Maze left in August.
