KRBQ/SF Rebrands As 102.1 JAMS

• As first tipped in today’s RAMP, Audacy has rebranded Classic Hip Hop KRBQ/San Francisco, dropping its Q102.1 slogan in favor of 102.1 JAMSan identity similar to four-year-old Classic Hip-Hop sister WBMX (104.3 JAMS)/Chicago.

The station will continue to feature a wide collection of Classic Hip-Hop hits and Throwbacks, including favorites from 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, E-40, Dr. Dre, Missy Elliott, etc.

“We’re pleased to introduce the Bay Area’s newest station and continue to bring our listeners a home for their favorites in throwback hip-hop,” said Stacey Kauffman, SVP/Market Manager, Audacy San Francisco. “JAMS will embody the very best this format has had to offer and we look forward to continuing to grow this brand as the Bay Area’s go-to for hip-hop.”

102.1 JAMS will launch with the return of 30-year Bay Area legend Chuy Gomez to do afternoon drive. Gomez formerly did mornings on Q102.1 until August 2019 and famously spent over 20 years in morning drive across the street on KMEL. Additional personalities will be announced in the coming weeks.

As we reported this morning, Q102.1 afternoon talent Efren Sifuentes has exited, as has evening personality Mia Amor, who continues to anchor the morning show on sister KSFM/Sacramento. Sifuentes can be contacted at efrendeejay@gmail.com.
