• NRG Media has named Matt Derrick to lead its Omaha FM Operations team, overseeing Hot AC KQKQ (Sweet 98.5), Rhythmic KOPW (Power 106.9) and Adult Hits KOOO (101.9 The Keg). He succeeds Ryan Wild, who earlier this month was named PD of E.W. Scripps’ WKTI (94-5 KTI Country)/Milwaukee. Derrick was most Regional Programming Manager and SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Norfolk/Virginia Beach until May 2016. He previously served as Regional Programming Manager for Clear Channel’s stations in Wilmington, DE and Salisbury, MD. He’s also worked at the late KNGY (Energy 92.7)/Francisco and at KHTT (106.9 K-Hits)/Tulsa, OK.

“Matt Derrick is a standout in the industry,” said Andy Ruback, General Manager of NRG Media. “We work hard to be a destination company and because of that, NRG Media is fortunate to be able to attract talented people like Matt. We are very excited for Matt to join our team and look forward to our continued success.” Derrick said, “I’m thrilled to join the NRG Media team. They’ve placed a high value on building great brands with strong talent and they understand the importance of excellent community engagement. I look forward to the opportunity to work in a world-class broadcast facility with an outstanding opportunity for growth.”

• Congrats to Brandon Young, PD/afternoon personality on Broadway Media Country KEGA (101.5 The Eagle)/Salt Lake City, who is packing for a move to scenic Wenatchee, WA as the newly named OM of Cherry Creek’s seven-station cluster and PD of Country KYSN (Kissin’ 97.7) and Hot AC KQBG (99.5 The Bridge).
