• Community Broadcasters of Destin-Ft. Walton Beach, FL announced dual promotions: Wes Styles has been upped to OM of the cluster, while former intern Mary Jo Gruber has been rewarded with an upgrade to PD of Top 40 WECQ (Q92). It was in February of this year when Styles (left) arrived as PD of Alternative WZLB (103.1 The Blaze) and Adult Hits WWAV (102.1 The Wave). He now adds operational oversight of Q92 and Country WHWY (Highway 98.1) to his purview. WHWY is programmed by Jim “Scratch” Wellem.

“Wes has become an important part of our team from day one and assumed a leadership role,” said Jason Lamp, interim Market Manager. “Wes has a plan for moving our brands forward and will help continue to grow the success of Community Broadcasters Fort Walton/Destin stations for our clients and listeners. We are lucky to have Wes join our team and look forward to his success with our brands.”

Ms. Gruber (right) launched her career with Community Broadcasters over two years ago as an intern and quickly found her passion in radio. The result is this well deserved promotion to the PD chair at Q92. “After much review and many great candidates, Mary Jo was the perfect choice to take the reins of Q92,” said Styles. “We look forward to what she will bring to the station now that she’s fully in the Captain’s chair.”
