Julian Jumpin’ Back Into Radio
• Entercom Classic Hip Hop WBMX (104.3 Jams)/Chicago is making final preparations to welcome its first full-time on-air personality — and it’s a very familiar name to local listeners — Julian “Jumpin'” Perez, best known for his successful run across the hall on sister WBBM-FM (B96) over a decade ago. That’s Perez (center), signing his new deal, bookended by B96/Jams APD/MD Erik Bradley (left) and Entercom Chicago VP of Programming Todd Cavanah (right).
In a staff memo obtained by RAMP, Bradley said, “As many of you know, Julian was part of the on-air staff at B96 in the 1990’s, was a member of the ‘Hot Mix Five’ back in the late ’80s on the original WBMX and is a founding member of the B96 Street Mix. He’s also a current member of the BMX Four, and as of Thursday, March 15 will be the voice you hear on 104.3 Jams weeknights from 7-midnight. Welcome back to the radio, Julian! Stand by for further Jams on-air staff announcements!”
