Brody Unplugs, Unwinds, Looks Ahead

• Probably the biggest radio-related personnel movement of the week was David Brody‘s decision to step down as an Executive Producer and comedy writer for the Premiere-syndicated Elvis Duran & The Morning Show after nearly 25 years to focus on his family and other interests, like writing the book he’s always wanted to tackle.

Duran had noted during Brody’s farewell broadcast (listen to the audio here) that when Brody first joined the show he worked for free for the first 18 months while managing the women’s retail clothing store Express at night.

Brody told us that he’s looking to stay involved in radio in some capacity and/or write for late night comedy talk shows. In the meantime, he continues to host the popular Brooklyn Boys podcast with his longtime Elvis Duran show colleague Skeery Jones.

RAMP caught up with Brody, who told us, “To me, working on the show for 24 and a half years was practically a 24-hour-a-day responsibility. Always looking for news, always looking for entertainment stories, always looking for topics and that got in the way many times of spending time with my family working on my book and working on some TV projects I’ve wanted to work on. I’m sure I will end up back in radio someday. I love talking to listeners, sharing my thoughts and opinions and making people laugh. Thankfully I still have the Brooklyn Boys podcast to do that.” That’s Brody (4th from left, next to Elvis, representing in his Brooklyn Boys merch) posing for a farewell class picture with his castmates.

Looking ahead, Brody is available to discuss any and all options and can be easily reached at BrooklynBoyBrody@gmail.com. Follow him on Twitter @DavidBrody and Instagram.
