iHeartRadio To Honor Alicia, Garth & Halsey
• iHeartMedia and Fox announced that the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards will honor Alicia Keys with the iHeartRadio Innovator Award; Garth Brooks will receive the inaugural Artist of the Decade Award; and Halsey will be honored with the iHeartRadio Fangirls Award presented by L’Oréal Paris. The sixth annual iHeartRadio Music Awards will air on Fox on Thursday, March 14 (8-10pm ET live/PT tape-delayed) from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The show will also stream live on iHeartMedia radio stations and on iHeartRadio.
Fifteen-time Grammy winner Alicia Keys, who recently hosted the 61st Grammy Awards, will be presented with the coveted 2019 iHeartRadio Innovator Award for her unparalleled contributions to pop culture and social causes as an artist, songwriter, producer, entrepreneur and activist.
Garth will receive the first-ever iHeartRadio Artist of the Decade Award for his impact on the music industry as one of the world’s most successful and beloved artists. Garth is the No.1-selling solo artist in U.S. history, with more than 148 million albums sold. He is also the first-ever artist to be awarded seven Diamond Awardsby the RIAA for having seven albums sell over 10 million each. Brooks is a member of the Musicians Hall of Fame, International Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame, and he was recently named as the inaugural inductee into the Live Music Hall of Fame.
L’Oréal Paris and iHeartRadio also will present Halsey with the 2019 Fangirls Award, which recognizes a female artist who has pushed boundaries with her music and message while inspiring her fans around the globe. The Fangirls Award presented by L’Oréal Paris celebrates the power of women coming together in support of other women.
Nominees for the iHeartRadio Music Awards were announced on January 9. Artists receiving multiple nominations include Cardi B, Drake, Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, Post Malone, Maroon 5 and Imagine Dragons. The full list of nominees is posted at iHeartRadio.com/awards.
