Champaign Celebration For Allen

• Saga’s Illini Radio Group (IRG) of Champaign/Urbana, IL keeps it in the family and promotes Kurtis Allen to Program Director of Country WIXY and Classic Country WYXY. He succeeds Andy Roberts, who exited on February 20 after 20 years in the building.

Allen joined IRG in 2015 as Production Director and On-Air talent, and has also been developing and leading IRG’s new Creative Services department since 2018. Prior to joining Saga, Allen programmed Cromwell Top 40 WCBH (104.3 The Party)/Casey, IL (Terre-Haute, IN) from 2009-2015.

In making the announcement of Allen’s upgrade, Market VP/GM Karen Cochrane noted, “It’s a great move for Illini Radio Group and for Kurtis. I’m excited as he takes the reins of these two powerhouse radio stations. I’m extremely confident that he’ll do a phenomenal job!”
