KCBS Debuts Audio, Visual Rebranding

• Entercom All-News outlet KCBS-AM & KFRC-FM (KCBS All News)/San Francisco prepares to mark its 51st year in the format in May. The station kicked off the celebration a tad early with the debut of enhanced audio imaging featuring celebrated female voiceover artists Randy Thomas and Roberta Solomon as co-voices of the station as well as a cool new logo, marking the first visual refresh in over a decade for the Bay Area’s only 24-hour live and local multimedia news station.

“KCBS is an iconic news brand and it’s only fitting that our new image is of an equal caliber,” said Greg Nemitz, SVP/Market Manager, Entercom San Francisco. “These changes are part of the KCBS evolution that elevates our connection with our broad Bay Area audience.”

Randy Thomas said, “I’m incredibly proud to be a part of this legendary radio station serving San Francisco’s Bay Area. To be teamed with another woman to brand KCBS is an honor.” Roberta Solomon commented, “It’s so exciting to be part of the brand innovation for KCBS. It’s an honor to be part of this iconic station’s evolution, but especially so to shape its sound with another woman.”

In addition to its award-winning news broadcasts, KCBS recently launched original and local podcasts, including 10Q With Stan and Susan, How to Bay Area, The Crisis Next Door and The News Vault.
