ESPN 630 DC Adds Pollin, Weinstein
• Cumulus Media’s recently launched Washington, DC Sports-Talk outlet WSBN (ESPN 630) welcomes a couple of veteran DC sports personalities, Andy Pollin and Bram Weinstein, to its on-air team.
Pollin joins ESPN 630 as morning drive Sports Update anchor and Features Correspondent, doing local updates within ESPN’s Golic & Wingo Show weekdays from 6-10am. Weinstein will do afternoon drive and host Redskins Today, weekdays at 6pm. The cleverly named Bram Weinstein Show launches Tuesday, July 30, with a three-day series of broadcasts from the Redskins Training Camp in Richmond, VA.
Pollin was part of the original team at WFAN/New York in 1987. Five years later, he returned to his hometown of Washington, DC, to help launch WTEM/Washington, rising to Sports Director during his 25-year tenure. Weinstein is a DC native who has spent more than a decade covering local teams a reporter and talk show host, including eight years as a Redskins beat reporter. He also spent seven years as an anchor at ESPN.
Bill Hess, PD of Cumulus Washington, DC, said, “We’re thrilled to welcome these DC sports radio icons to ESPN 630 and look forward to sharing news of further additions to our team in the very near future.”
Weinstein said, “I couldn’t be more excited to be doing Sports-Talk on the radio station where it began in DC. I grew up listening to Ken Beatrice, SportsCall and the Redskins on AM 630.” Pollin added, “After nearly 30 years of doing sports radio in Washington, I’m incredibly excited to join ESPN 630 and restore the frequency’s great history of sports.” Pictured, in their official team jackets, (l-r): Cumulus Washington DC VP/Market Manager Jake McCann, Bram Weinstein, Andy Pollin and Bill Hess.
