PopCrush Nights Names New Hosts
• RAMP has learned that Townsquare Media and Compass Media Networks have introduced new hosts of their jointly syndicated PopCrush Nights show, available in Top 40 and Hot AC versions.
Lauryn Snapp is the new host of the Top 40 version, and Donny Meacham takes over the Hot AC show, both starting tonight.
The Nashville-based Snapp most recently worked for Premiere Networks as CMT Radio Digital and Social Producer and on-air contributor for CMT After MidNite with Cody Alan and CMT Radio Live with Cody Alan. Snapp said, “As a kid, I was obsessed with the magical connection of radio. As an adult, nothing has changed. Now, thanks to radio and digital technology, we can power up innovative ways to bring music fans closer to their favorite stars! I am incredibly thrilled to join and contribute to the Townsquare Media team as a host for PopCrush Nights and bring forward the best in storytelling!”
Meacham, who replaces Nicole Murray, is described as “a Southern boy living in a Hollywood world!” His LinkedIn profile lists prior stops with OK! Magazine, SiriusXM, iHeartRadio, and his most stint as a “Dating/Relationship Expert” for Celebrity Page TV on REELZ. Meacham said, “PopCrush is leading the way for the future of radio and I am honored and excited to be a part of it.”
Snapp replaces Kayla Thomas, who also exits her night shift at Townsquare Top 40 WPST/Trenton, NJ. Thomas broke the news of her departure last Thursday in a lengthy Instagram post, which reads, in part, “Thank you to @townsquaremedia for trusting a young girl who was so green with such a big and powerful platform… and thank you to my listeners. You all keep me going every single day. Your encouraging words remind me why God gave me this loud voice in the first place.” The WPST night show is now officially open.
