Vermeulen WWJ’s New Evening Anchor
• Erin Vermeulen has been elevated to evening news anchor for Audacy’s WWJ NewsRadio 950/Detroit. She can now be heard weeknights from 7-midnight, ET, effective immediately.
“Erin is well connected to the community and has a number of great ideas to keep listeners informed about the top stories and events happening across metro Detroit, the state and the country,” said Debbie Kenyon, SVP/Market Manger, Audacy Detroit. “We are excited to promote Erin to anchor and look forward to hearing her voice on WWJ.”
Vermeulen is a 23-year broadcast pro who most recently served as a writer and editor for WWJ. Her radio career has taken her to Cairo, Dubai, Oman and South Africa before returning to the U.S. and working on Bill Handel‘s morning show on KFI/Los Angeles in 2015.
“I’m really excited to get back to my radio roots as a news presenter at one of the most iconic stations in the country,” said Vermeulen. “I’m also very grateful to work with such talented and extraordinary people at WWJ. It’s great to be back on the airwaves in my hometown, where I started my career more than 20 years ago.”
