Charlie Maxx Named PD, WXCY/Wilmington

• Major market veteran Charlie Maxx has returned to the familiar surroundings of the Wilmington, DE market, hired by Forever Media as the new PD/midday talent at Country WXCY (103.7/96.9), starting Feb. 20. She succeeds Tyler Daniel, who left in January.

In making the announcement, GM Doug Hall said, “All of us at WXCY are very excited to be working with Charlie. Her talent, passion, and expertise will be an excellent start to our next chapter as Wilmington’s Country Station.”

Ms. Maxx was most recently APD/midday personality/Production Director at Beasley Country WXTU/Philadelphia until last October, when she was one of many downsized during a round of companywide budget cuts. No stranger to the Wilmington area, Maxx was previously PD and morning host on Beasley AC WJBR/Wilmington, DE and has also worked at a variety of Philadelphia stations, including Mix 95.7, 96.5 The Point, Alice 104.5 and WBEB. Maxx began her radio career at the Jersey shore working at WAYV and WJRZ, and she’s also worked in Washington and Baltimore.

“I’m excited to join WXCY and be back in Wilmington, where I’ve always felt at home,” Maxx remarked. “I love Country music, and being able to program a station in the Delaware Valley with artists I admire and an audience so engaging is energizing! Thanks to President Lynn Deppen, Doug Hall, and everyone at Forever Media for this opportunity. Can’t wait to get back to it.” Maxx will retain her current role with Futuri as TopicPulse and Prep+ Operations Specialist. She can be congratulated at ChazMaxx@gmail.com.
