Morano Now Full-Time @ WABC/NY

• Red Apple Media’s 77 WABC/New York has added Frank Morano to the full-time on-air staff — he will host The Frank Morano Program Sunday evenings from 7-9pm ET starting this weekend, and will begin anchoring Morano in the Morning every weekday from 1-5am ET, beginning in August. Morano is presently on-air from 10am-noon ET on WLIR/Long Island, which was recently purchased by Red Apple Media, and he will continue to serve as a producer and on-air contributor to The Cats Roundtable, every Sunday morning from 8:30-10am ET on WABC, hosted by John Catsimatidis, the owner of Red Apple Media.

“Frank is one of the most entertaining young voices in talk radio today,” said Chad Lopez, President of Red Apple Media and WABC. “We’re thrilled to add Frank to our ranks as we continue to cement our place as New York’s premiere news and talk station. Now more than ever, it’s more important that we make sure New Yorkers know where to go for news and information.”

Morano spent the past decade at Salem Media’s WNYM (AM 970 The Answer)/New York, where he produced The Joe Piscopo Show, The John Gambling Show and The Curtis Sliwa Show. He has also hosted Morano in the Morning on a weekly basis since 2011 and has served as a substitute host for the syndicatedMike Gallagher Show. Before joining AM 970, Morano produced Curtis & Kuby and other shows on WABC.

“Frank has already contributed a great deal towards furthering civic discourse in New York,” said Dave LaBrozzi, SVP of Programming for WABC. “To have him back on WABC is a major coup for us and we know he’ll be an essential building block in making radio fun again. We are incredibly honored that he is joining our team and look forward to working with him.”

Morano commented, “Joining the regular on-air lineup at 77WABC is the culmination of everything I’ve worked for since I was eight years old. I’m thrilled to work with some of the best talk talents in the country and for a radio station dedicated to quality live and local talk, at a time when it often seems in short supply. I’m committed to working as hard as I possibly can to deliver to New Yorkers the information they need to get through their day, along with insights and commentary representing every point of view. This will be a talking-point-free show, which I hope will be entertaining and unpredictable.”
