Borchetta Recovering After Race Crash
• We are sending our best wishes to Big Machine Label Group Chairman & CEO Scott Borchetta, a lifelong racer and the owner of the Big Machine Racing Team, who is recovering from undisclosed injuries incurred on Sunday, March 26 while he was racing in the Trans Am2 Series at Road Atlanta.
BMLG released a statement that reads, “Big Machine Label Group Chairman and CEO Scott Borchetta was involved in an accident yesterday, Sunday, March 26 while racing in the Trans Am2 Series. He was taken to the hospital to assess his injuries and is currently in stable condition. We ask everyone to please respect the Borchetta family’s privacy during this time.” No other details have been released.
According to an account on TobyChristie.com, Borchetta was extracted from his No. 48 car and transported to a local hospital after “suffering a massive crash on lap 24 of Sunday’s Trans Am2 Series event at Road Atlanta.” After the accident, the Trans Am broadcast team gave an update on Borchetta’s condition, saying, “I can tell you [Scott] is okay. He is conscious, and he’s been talking to his team, but he is on his way to the hospital. It was a big hit, but I am glad to say he is now in good care and being taken to the hospital. That’s the latest.”
