Remembering Tammie Holland

• It is with profound sadness that Roberts Metro Broadcasting St. Louis announces the passing of Tammie Holland, the beloved co-host of the Real Breakfast Crew on Foxy 106.9 (KXBS-HD2/K295CQ).

Holland had been very forthcoming about her battle with Stage 4 colon cancer, dating back to when she was initially diagnosed in July 2021. Last month she announced on social media that she had elected to move to hospice care after learning that cancer had been detected in her brain.

In a statement, the station said, “Tammie’s remarkable legacy in the radio industry spans over three decades, and her impact on the city of St. Louis will be deeply felt. Tammie was a cherished fixture on Foxy 106.9, known for her warm smile, contagious laughter, and genuine enthusiasm for life. Her signature voice and engaging storytelling style made her a favorite among listeners, and her presence on the airwaves will be deeply missed.”

The statement continues, “Tammie was a kind, charming, and infectious presence who brought joy to countless listeners. Her signature laugh will be remembered forever. As a media veteran, she touched many lives through her work in radio, TV, acting, and podcasting. Our deepest condolences go out to Tammie’s loved ones. May she rest in peace and continue to inspire us all.”

“We are devastated to lose our dear friend and colleague,” said Don “DJ-Wrekk-1” Williams, Program Director of Foxy 106.9. “Tammie was more than just a talented broadcaster — she was a kind, compassionate, and generous soul who touched countless lives through her work. In addition to the on-air tribute, we will be working closely with Tammie’s family to provide support during this difficult time. As we remember Tammie’s life and legacy, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched and the memories she created.”

To honor Tammie’s memory, Foxy 106.9 will dedicate the 8am and 5pm (CT) hours on Monday, July 22 to inspirational songs, memories, and messages from past and present influential people in her life. Listeners can share their favorite memories and stories about Tammie by calling 314-944-1069 or by posting their thoughts on the station’s Facebook or Instagram pages @Foxy1069FM.
