Jenny & Tony Out At KSMG/San Antonio

• Cox Media Group Hot AC KSMG (HITS 105.3)/San Antonio has released morning duo Jenny Lee and Tony Cortez. While not sharing the reasons for the move, the station nevertheless took the unusual step of acknowledging the team’s departure in a complimentary Facebook post that reads, “Our friends, Jenny & Tony are no longer on the air with us at HITS 105.3. They’ve been a vital and successful part of our team for a long time and we’re going to miss them. They are both wonderful people and they will always have our appreciation and respect. We have some fun plans coming soon for you… stand by!

Chicago native Lee, who was also APD/MD, joined KSMG for afternoon drive in August 2013, arriving from Clear Channel Top 40 WZEE (Z104)/Madison, WI. Four months later she was elevated to the morning show.Cortez joined the former Magic 105.3 in May 2019 to do nights, later moving up to afternoons, and finally, mornings alongside Lee in December 2020 (swapping shifts with then co-host Adam Michaels).

A longtime San Antonio radio fixture, Cortez earlier spent seven years across the street at Alpha Media Top 40 KTFM (Energy 94.1), starting in mornings in January 2011 and rising to APD/afternoon personality, where he remained until his departure in August 2018. He earlier spent five years as MD/night jock at iHeartMedia’s now former Top 40 (now Bilingual AC) KXXM/San Antonio and three years as APD/MD/afternoon talent at KHFI/Austin.
