DVMG Phoenix Sold To Mike Cutchall

• In early August we first reported that Desert Valley Media Group was selling its Phoenix radio stations — Rhythmic KKFR (Power 98.3), Hot AC simulcast KMVA/KZON (Hot 97.5/103.9), and Classic Hits KOAI/K235CB (95.1 & 94.9 The Wow Factor) — to Houston-based Zelus eSports, LLC.

On Monday we received notice that the sale from Desert Valley Media Group to Zelus has now closed. Desert Valley Media Group, LLC, is an Arizona-based company headed by Jeff Trumper. Desert Valley has no other broadcast interests. The Buyer, Zelus eSports LLC, is a Texas-based company headed by Michael Cutchall. Zelus has no other broadcast interests.

Cutchall formally served as Pres. & CEO of the former Riviera Broadcasting Phoenix from 2015 to 2020, prior to its August 2021 rebranding as Desert Valley Media Group. He went on to serve as VP/Market Manager of Beasley Las Vegas until May of this year.

KKFR-FM operates at 98.3 MHz, with 41.000 kW at 2,795′ HAAT; KMVA-FM operates at 97.5 MHz, with 42.000 kW at 2,786′ HAAT; KOAI-FM operates at 95.1 MHz, with 41.000 kW at 2,786′ HAAT; and KZON-FM operates at 103.9 MHz, with 100.000 kW at 620′ HAAT. KALIL & CO., INC. was the exclusive broker for this transaction.
