CBS Radio Philly Ups Easton & Smith

CBS Radio Philadelphia yesterday announced two executive upgrades — let’s start with Shelly Easton, longtime PD of Country WXTU, who has been upped VP of Music Programming for WXTU, AC WTDY (Today’s 96.5) and Classic Hits 98.1 WOGL. In her newly created role, Easton will continue to program WXTU and also direct the digital, marketing and promotional strategies for WXTU, WOGL and WTDY. Concurrently, Bobby Smith annexes PD duties for WOGL in addition to his current role as PD and morning host at WTDY. He succeeds Anne Gress, who left earlier this week.

In making the announcement, David Yadgaroff, SVP/Market Manager of CBS Radio Philadelphia commented, “Shelly’s leadership at WXTU and across our industry makes her the ideal choice to lead the strategy and evolution of our music stations. In his expanded role, Bobby will be managing two of Philadelphia’s Top 5-cuming radio stations. These are very well deserved promotions for two of Philadelphia radio’s finest.”

Easton said, “This is an exciting opportunity and I am thrilled to work with such legendary brands and top notch talent on a daily basis.” Smith remarked, “I’m elated to now be a part of the legendary brand at WOGL and excited to be joining this incredibly skilled staff.”
