Meet 98 Rock’s Next PD: Justin Johnson

• Baltimore’s iconic rock station, Hearst Television’s WIYY (98 Rock), the radio home of youuuurrrr Baltimore Ravens and Orioles has appointed Justin Johnson as its next Program Director, effective Sept. 1. Johnson, who joined the station in July 2023 as APD, will succeed retiring 98 Rock PD Rick Strauss.

Johnson brings extensive industry expertise, having served from 2019 to 2023 as Program Director of iHeartMedia’s WEBN/Cincinnati and National Rock Format Coordinator. His earlier stops include morning show producer at WKLS (the former Project 9-6-1)/Atlanta, PD of WWBA/Tampa, talk host at WTKS/Orlando and WJFK/Washington, and on-air at WWDX/Lansing, MI.
