Condolences: Alex Machurov
Machurov (left) joined A2IM and the Foundation for Independent Music in 2024 as Head of Business Development. In just 18 months, and despite health challenges, he made significant contributions to the growth and success of the Foundation and to A2IM’s programs. “Alex’s courage, generosity, and commitment to independent music were inspiring to all of us at A2IM,” stated Dr. Richard James Burgess, MBE, President & CEO, A2IM. “His contributions will have a lasting impact, and our hearts are with his family at this difficult time.”
Machurov had more than two decades of experience in music and live event partnerships — before joining A2IM, Machurov co-founded Fandiem, a digital fundraising platform. He previously spent over 10 years at Superfly, overseeing brand sponsorships and activations for some of the country’s largest music festivals, including Bonnaroo and Outside Lands. Machurov earlier served as Chief Revenue Officer at Revolution Marketing, Principal at hifi Partners Consulting, and VP of National Events & Experiential Partnerships at iHeartMedia. Earlier in his career, Machurov honed his expertise at Civic Entertainment Group, Entercom, and Live Nation Entertainment.
Machurov is survived by his two children, who were his greatest pride, and by his former spouse, with whom he shared a close and supportive bond in their lives as co-parents.
A statement from A2Im reads, “Alex will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for the kindness, energy, and resilience he brought to every endeavor. His legacy endures in the communities, colleagues, and family he inspired throughout his life and career.”
