Fred Wakes Up In Charlotte Again
• It’s a gala Charlotte homecoming for The Fred Show, as iHeartMedia Top 40 WHQC (HITS 96.1) announced the impending debut of the Premiere-syndicated morning show, effective Jan. 5. The Fred Show features host Fred and his unique cast of characters, including Kaelin, Paulina, Showbiz Shelly, Jason Brown and Keke.
The pre-syndicated Fred famously did mornings on 96.1 back in the day when the station was 96.1 The Beat. Fred’s face also recently reappeared on local television as he joined WCCB-TV‘s relaunched evening magazine program The EDGE, which he co-hosted from 2007-2010.
“It’s a Charlotte homecoming!” exclaimed Fred. “I started my morning radio career there and I’m so grateful and excited to bring The Fred Show to the QC!” No less thrilled about Fred’s return is Trevor Morini, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Charlotte and Raleigh, who commented, “We are thrilled to welcome Fred back to Charlotte. Featuring a dynamic mix of personalities and life stages, The Fred Show offers someone for everyone to relate to.”
The Fred Show replaces Miguel & Holly, who recently returned to Tampa Bay to do mornings on iHeartMedia AC WMTX (Mix 100.7), effective Monday, Jan. 5.
