Atlanta Just Can’t Quit Kannon

• Third time’s the charm for Kannon and the city of Atlanta, as Cumulus Top 40 WWWQ (Q99.7) acquires the talents of Mr. Kannon for evenings. The shift has been open since since earlier this month, when Laura Dickerson was released from her dual market responsibilities as APD/nights for Q99.7 and MD/nights for KRBE/Houston during those largescale Cumulus cuts.

Already extremely familiar with the ATL — and vice versa — Kannon most recently did afternoon drive on Audacy’s WSTR (Star 94) until March 2025, when he was one of many downsized during a large round of restructuring. He earlier worked at the former WBTS (95.5 The Beat)/Atlanta.

In addition to his longtime gig as host of Open House Party and his daily The Kannon Show, distributed by United Stations, Kannon remains popular in the Ft. Myers market, juggling middays on Sun Broadcasting Top 40 WXKB (B103.9) and afternoon drive on Ft. Myers Broadcasting AC 96.9 WINK-FM.

Kannon’s other notable stops include KDMX, KVIL and the former KLIF-FM (Hot 93.3)/Dallas, and eight years with former Beasley Rhythmic WRDW (Wired 96.5)/Philadelphia.
