David Weiss Goes On On Top

“My resume, as with so many others in our field, includes a bit of everything: News anchor/reporter, sports reporter, talk show host, morning show host, radio dating show host (no kidding) and basically every other on-air position you can imagine,” said Weiss, who also hosted a TV talk show on the PBS affiliate in Providence in the ’80s and spent four years as a TV weatherman on Long Island from 2008-2012. “In the standup comedy act I’m now doing, I boast that my weather forecasts — done with virtually no meteorological experience — were 90% right… 10% of the time.'” Weiss told us. “And yes, although my broadcast career has ended, my standup comedy career, which began 10 years ago, marches on.”
Weiss had also served as the play-by-play voice of the minor league Long Island Ducks for the past 26 seasons. “The Ducks won their 5th Atlantic League championship last month, giving me an opportunity to ‘go out on top,'” he said.
In closing, Weiss noted, “Always great to turn to RAMP each day to catch up on an industry I’ll always love. Keep up the great work, and take care.” Your good wishes can be shared with Weiss at dweiss130.dtw@gmail.com.
