Baltimore’s Laurie DeYoung Returns!

• One of Baltimore’s most recognizable radio voices is coming back to mornings this week — on a temporary basis and on a different station.

Country Radio Hall of Famer Laurie DeYoung, best known and loved for her four decades in mornings on iHeartMedia’s 93.1 WPOC will join The Kramer Show on Audacy Hot AC WWMX (Mix 106.5) as a special guest co-host Wednesday, Oct. 21 through Friday, Oct. 23.

“Some people work in Baltimore radio. Laurie is part of Baltimore radio history,” Kramer said. “People didn’t just listen to her. They grew up with her, raised their families with her and made her part of their mornings. Getting to welcome her into our studio is a pretty incredible moment.”

DeYoung joined WPOC in 1985 and concluded her longtime morning show run in December 2024. Her return to mornings brings together two personalities who built their relationships with Baltimore listeners on competing stations. “For years, we were trying to get people to choose between our shows,” Kramer said. “This week, they get both of us. I can’t wait to see where the conversations go.”

DeYoung joins a growing list of recent special guest co-hosts on The Kramer Show, including Frank Ski, JoJo Girard, Intern John and Shelby Sos, Jeff St. Pierre, and Mix 106.5’s own Corinna Delgado. The series has brought together former competitors and familiar radio personalities for unexpected morning-show collaborations.

“Baltimore has so many personalities people have a real connection with,” Kramer added. “Getting them into the same studio, sharing stories and letting listeners hear a different side of them has been so much fun. Having Laurie join us is another huge moment.”
