Tafrow Trading ‘Airwaves For Fairways’

Tafrow broke his news on-air Monday afternoon, stating, “I’m not into long goodbyes,” adding, “The time just flew. I worked my way in, up and around and somehow ended up on the morning show and had some amazing years with Jenn Ryan, my former partner. I’d be lying if her retiring almost two years ago, a little piece of me went out that door as well.”
Tafrow joined WBEB in 2003 to do weekend overnights, and worked his way up to morning traffic. He was later elevated to morning show co-host alongside market fave Jenn Ryan, a successful run that lasted 14 years until Ryan’s retirement in March 2025 after a 32-year career, the last 16 at B101. Last September B101 hired market mainstay Kathy Romano for mornings, and Tafrow moved into the noon-7pm shift.
Tafrow continued, “It was an awesome honor to do afternoons here on the B, but it’s coming to an end. My heart is full. It truly is. I understand when people say that, but I know what it means now. I got to do everything I ever wanted to do in radio. There’s not one more thing left for me to do here on the B.” Referring to his longtime love of golf, Tafrow joked, “I’m trading airwaves for fairways…”
